Google Maps for BlackBerry has been updated to v4.0.1 and now includes a Buzz layer. If you’re a Buzz user (is anyone actually using it?) you’ll be able to get some more cool features in Google Maps with this new version. You can turn the layer on or off from the standard map, and also have the ability to search by voice and use synchronized starring. The update is a pretty big jump from the previous version, but we’re not sure if any other updates are included in the release. To download the update head to m.google.com/maps from your device.

✓ Restore∙

Allowing users to wirelessly restore their BlackBerry data including Contacts, Memo, Tasks, Events, Call logs and Emails.∙

Restore can be done wirelessly direct to the new BlackBerry device that can be used instantly.

✓ Tabulating Data∙

Smartguard application is able to tabulating device existing data that is restored in the device.∙

Data includes: number of memo, task, contact, event, call, mail and file.

✓ Device Tracking∙

Smartguard application has extra security feature which is able to track down devices in optional every 3 or 5 minutes.

✓ Personal Guardian∙

In the case of users are in trouble, personal guardian will auto send out Email, SMS and phone for help. In order for user to use this emergency aid feature, by pressing and HOLDING the Menu key for about 8 seconds then the BlackBerry device will vibrate and signals will be sent.

✓ SIMCard Guardian∙

SIMCard Guardian allows users to register SIM IMSI into the application. Thus once setup, it will notify users every time an unregistered SIM Card is used on users’ BlackBerry. To enable this feature, users are suggested to register their SIM Card(s) and any unregistered SIM Card used on users’ BlackBerry will be flagged.
